Art is an extremely subjective subject. What is art to some people is not viewed as art to others. Consequently, keeping that statement in mind, many varied art forms exist. In addition to the broadly accepted types of art, like drawing, painting, sculpting and more, there are some types that exist as art less commonly and to a smaller audience. These may be photography or decorative art glass.
When it comes to photography, one common thought is that any person is able to take a picture. Some do not believe any creativity or talent are requirements to taking a picture. I do not think this is correct. To take a great photography with present technology, you will need to have a professional camera. This type of camera will possess a higher level of megapixels which give the photo a higher quality. It also will take skill to use such a sophisticated camera. Then, most importantly, to be a great photographer, you must have an excellent eye. This indicates knowing how to frame a photo and make it unique. This also indicates taking a picture that has appropriate composition. If photographing people, one must be able to capture emotion and special moments. All these amongst other traits are what make a great photographer an artist when compared to an individual taking images leisurely.
Yet another art that may possibly be under appreciated is glasswork. To some, this type of art is simply printed glass dinnerware. On the other hand, if an individual genuinely knows how art glass is formed, then they acknowledge it as art. Whether the glass piece is molded, pressed or created making use of glassblowing, this type of art will take skill of the trade paired with creativity. For that reason, art glass is also a form of art.
Even though there are broadly accepted styles of art, what is considered art and what is not differs from individual to individual. This subject is quite subjective and what one person may find breathtaking, another may look at as junk.
